40 DAYS FOR LIFE KICKS OFF FALL CAMPAIGN
Peaceful, Prayerful, Effective 40 Days For Life Campaign Kicks off with September 23rd Rally

Pittsburgh
, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — “We truly hope that this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in Pittsburgh,” said Nikki Bruni, who coordinates the local 40 Days for Life effort. “The pro-life community will join together for our area’s 40 Days for Life kickoff event at 917 Liberty Ave., (downtown Pittsburgh) on Sunday, September 23rd at 2pm.” (In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 320 Sixth Ave., downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is one of the many cities from coast to coast conducting simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns from September 26 through November 4. “We start this effort by drawing members of the community together to share the vision of 40 Days for Life and to pray for God’s blessings on this effort. It is time to focus attention on the harm abortion has done to our city,” said Ms. Bruni.

Speakers at the 40 Days for Life kickoff event include: Veteran pro-life activists Bob Newman and Albert Brunn, along with pastors representing both the Catholic and the Protestant faith.  Also speaking will be Ms. LaToya Moore, who will be sharing her personal testimony of post-abortion reconciliation and conversion to pro-life.

“This rally will begin 40 days of prayer and fasting, with special attention to prayer in the public right-of-way outside the abortion facility at Planned Parenthood, 933 Liberty Avenue (downtown Pittsburgh), as well as various types of community outreach. We look forward to seeing what kind of transformation God will bring about in our city,” said Ms. Bruni.

All prayer vigil participants are asked to sign a statement of peace, pledging to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.

40 Days for Life is a peaceful, intensive pro-life campaign that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting, 40 days of peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and 40 days of grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history where God brought about world-changing transformation in 40-day periods.
