CLUTTER SUPPORT AND FACEBOOK UNITE THIS SEPTEMBER ADDRESSING CHRONIC DISORGANIZATION IN A GROUP SETTING
AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — For the past 8 months, The Clutter Support Class, founded and run by Lynn Dubinett and Vickie Dellaquila, has been changing the way cluttered individuals rewrite their organization habits. Starting in September, classes in two locations will begin in the North Hills and Shadyside. The mission of these classes is to provide an affordable, confidential class that focuses on organization skills, insight, and continual support.
In addition to upcoming classes, The Clutter Support Class is strengthening its social media presence by utilizing Facebook. Dubinett and Dellaquila will administer and routinely upload educational content and resources, while attendees of the class will have the opportunity to both commemorate other’s progress and to show their own. The importance of this support, Lynn Dubinett explains, is “because it helps maintain motivation and the drive to improve.” In other words, a vital push to improve accompanies the support that attendees receive from each other. With the Clutter Support Class stretching its reach to Facebook, students may review material and encourage and celebrate each other outside the classroom environment. This is important as most of the organization and application of class concepts occurs at home.
About The Clutter Support Class: Both Dubinett and Dellaquila have achieved CPO-CD (Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization), one of the highest certifications in the specialized field of chronic disorganization. Dubinett and Dellaquila brought their training and twenty-four years of combined experience to a group setting to combat the challenges people face. These include financial struggles, difficulties with drastic change, preference to work alone but lacking the skills, and the embarrassment in seeking help.
In The Clutter Support Class, both professionals meet with the attendees to teach organization skills and techniques that may be used at home. The class is affordable, and the pace moves reasonably. Best of all, individuals are surrounded and supported by others in similar situations. As one attendee put it, “It’s nice to know I’m not alone.” The isolation that many people with hoarding tendencies feel is countered by the group setting, leaving The Clutter Support Class standing out in a rising industry.
“A highly useful, informative class…. was a great find—for what is becoming widespread in today’s culture of increasing clutter & hoarding.”
