SOURMASH TAKES HOME ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR AT THE SEVENTH ANNUAL JOSIE MUSIC AWARDS
 
 
LEECHBURG, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Pennsylvania rock act Sourmash, set out for Pigeon Forge Tennessee last week to attend the 7th Annual Josie Music Awards. The band had received 6 nominations in 5 of the JMA rock categories. While going 0 for 5 in the other categories; Sourmash took home the most prestigious for a rock group with the Entertainer of the Year Award.

Held in Pigeon Forge TN September 17 and 18, the Josie Music Awards ceremony included a red carpet entrance, artist performances, award announcements, songwriter workshops and other activities. The nomination committee for the JMAs sifted through over 38,000 submissions from around the world to determine the nominees for this year’s event. The Josie Music Awards remains the largest independent artist award show in the world since its inception in 2015.

Members of Sourmash, along with many friends and family, rode their motorcycles to Tennessee to attend the JMAs. Over 20 people in total traveled to and spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge to attend the events along with Sourmash. Known as The Baddest Biker Band On The Planet, Sourmash members and crew often travel on motorcycles to their performances.

Sourmash consists of members: Tim Henry (vocalist, guitarist), Nick Farine (guitarist), Matt Knapp (drummer) and Dave Stanoszek (bassist).  The band of nearly eleven years has had several releases including the most recent singles, Wild Willie (August 2020) and Country Girl (January 2021). In the last few years, Sourmash music has found its way across the globe in both film and television; streaming in 79 countries; and nationally on SiriusXM and AMI & TouchTunes jukeboxes. Other rock nominations that Sourmash received for the 2021 Josie Music Awards included: Group of the Year; Song of the Year (Wild Willie); Vocalist of the Year (Henry); and two for Musician of the Year (Farine and Henry).

Sourmash has performed at numerous festivals and motorcycle rallies throughout Northeastern US and Western PA. Upcoming performances include:

October 29 – Hard Rock Café at Station Square, Pittsburgh PA
