WPADB Provides a Month’s Supply of Diapers in Support of National Diaper Needs Awareness Week

PITTSBURGH, PA, Sept 22, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank (WPADB) will host the Hill District Sprinkle on Tuesday, October 3 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Salem’s Market parking lot, 1850 Center Ave., Hill District, Pittsburgh.

National Diaper Needs Awareness Week runs from September 18 – 24, 2023. Diaper need impacts 1 in 2 families in the United States. “We spend this week raising awareness on the growing public health issue of diaper need,” said Cathy Battle, Executive Director of the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank. “We want to keep the momentum going after diaper need awareness week with our Hill District Sprinkle. It’s great timing.”
The event is a family fun-filled evening with food, resources, free baby items, and more from WPADB’s partner agencies, organizations, and vendors. Each household is limited to a one-month supply of diapers and families must register by Wednesday, September 27 at bit.ly/44SXAYw.

Vendors and sponsors of the sprinkle include UPMC Mobile Ronald McDonald Unit, Reading Ready Pittsburgh, Positive Painting Project, Allegheny County Office of Behavioral Health, Jeremiah’s Place, Allegheny County Overdose Prevention, Kinder Cloth Diaper Company, and the Black Equity Coalition. The Black Equity Coalition (BEC) supports equitable systems that advance justice and affirm the dignity of every human-being by building and strengthening strategic collaborations and networks through advocacy.

The Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a member of the National Diaper Bank Network.
