UNIQUE BOOK LAUNCH BRINGS ITALY TO PITTSBURGH
The Treasures We Seek Highlights the Food, Music, and History of the Castel Gandolfo Region
PITTSBURGH, PA, October 25, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Pittsburgh-area publisher and author Cori Wamsley is hosting a book launch for The Treasures We Seek with an evening of Italian food, wine, and music. Wamsley, CEO of Aurora Corialis Publishing, is celebrating The Treasures We Seek, her 10th book, with this unique experience.
The book, centered on architect Kensington Ashbury, follows Kenzi and her best friend Lauren as they take part in an archaeological dig on a trek to Castel Gandolfo, Italy. Together in Italy, they mine the Roman Empire’s past as Kenzi struggles to master her anxiety surrounding the upcoming family holiday and a huge project at work.
“This was such a fun book to write!” Wamsley said. “I loved exploring how Kenzi’s past kept her from trusting herself and others and what it took to let her finally be comfortable in her own skin again without worrying as much about what everyone thought of her.”
“Cori Wamsley’s novel effortlessly transports readers to a time of genuine self-discovery, when we experience revelations about life as we are living it,” said Amy Hooper Hanna, co-author of For She Who Grieves: Practical Wisdom for Living Hope. “The narrative beautifully weaves history, culture, and architecture together with a thread of serendipity, into a rich Italian tapestry that mirrors the multi-dimensional experience of individual exploration and adventure.”
A presentation about the Roman Empire at the time of Domitian, the emperor whose artifacts Kenzi and Lauren are digging up in the book, will be presented by Wamsley’s husband, and history buff, Matt. Guitarist Dan Baker will provide music during networking prior to dinner and Wamsley will wrap up the event with a book discussion.
Attendees will receive a buffet-style Italian meal with dishes from the Castel Gandolfo region, a glass of Italian wine, and a signed copy of the book. The event will take place at Franco’s Trattoria, McMurray, Pa., on Thursday, November 2 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Seating is limited, and reservations can be made by contacting Cori Wamsley at cori@auroracorialispublishing.com.
