PGH HBCU COLLABORATIVE “RISE SCHOLARSHIP” EVENT HONORS COMMUNITY LEADER
 
PITTSBURGH, PA, October 27, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The PGH HBCU Collaborative, a membership of HBCU alumni that are grounded in service to the community, will host the RISE Scholarship Dinner on Monday, October 30, 2023 – VIP reception at 5:30pm and Dinner at 7:00pm at DuquesneUniversity Power Center Ballroom – 600 Forbes Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15282.
 
The PGH HBCU Collaborative celebrates the accomplishments of community partners who have made it their life’s mission to stretch boundaries, broaden horizons, and forge a path of excellence for those who will follow behind them.
 
The PGH HBCU Collaborative’s mission is to promote the importance of Academic Success and College Completion through our community engagement activities that perpetuate the culture of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The keynote speaker for this event is Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover, President of Tennessee State University, an HBCU located in Nashville, Tennessee. Community leader awardees for the evening include: Mr. Jim Gibbs (Sensational STEM Award), Dr. Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew (Helping Through Health and Wellness Award), Mr. Ronald Lawrence (Phenomenal Philanthropic Award), Dr.Alicia B. Harvey-Smith (Exemplary Excellence in Education Award), and Dr. Ralph Proctor, Jr. (Exemplary in Excellence in Education Award).
