Handcrafted with Heart: Suma Jewelry Co. Brings Modern Heirlooms to Oakmont Grand Opening Celebration Slated for June 14th in Former Robert Hallett Space

Founded by soon-to-be husband-and-wife duo Kenny and Amelia, Suma Jewelry Co. is more than just a jewelry store—it’s a labor of love. Their work blends heritage-level artistry with modern design, offering handcrafted engagement rings, wedding bands, and custom fine jewelry designed to be worn every day and cherished for a lifetime.

Their story—and their studio—is rooted in intention: sustainability, ethical sourcing, and storytelling through metal and stone. Each piece is made by hand in their Oakmont workshop, where clients can also collaborate with the duo to create one-of-a-kind custom pieces.

“The studio has always been a dream of ours,” says Amelia. “Opening it in Oakmont, which is my beautiful hometown, feels like a totally full circle moment. We want people to feel connected not just to the jewelry—but to the process and the story behind it.”

While the doors open quietly on May 2, the full sparkle arrives on Saturday, June 14 with Suma’s Grand Opening Celebration, featuring live jewelry demos, refreshments from local vendors, exclusive collection previews, and an inside look at the artistry behind their signature styles.

Journalists, photographers, and members of Pittsburgh’s creative and retail community are warmly invited to attend. The first 50 guests will receive a curated Suma gift.

Suma Jewelry Co. is a fine jewelry studio and retail space founded by Kenny and Amelia, a couple and creative team driven by a shared love for the natural world and a passion for transforming raw materials into wearable works of art.

Drawing inspiration from nature, architecture, ancient relics, and the vibrant cultures they’ve encountered in their travels, Kenny and Amelia create pieces that are not only stunning and distinctive—but deeply meaningful.

Kenny brings over a decade of experience as a professional jeweler, with a formal education in metalsmithing from Edinboro University. His craftsmanship spans forging, soldering, hand fabrication, and stone setting. Amelia, equally hands-on, focuses on custom design,  gemstone beadwork, and working closely with CAD designers to bring intricate visions to life through precision renderings and 360-degree previews.
