BRAVE WOMEN PROJECT OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR 3RD ANNUAL PILLAR AWARDS: HONORING WOMEN WHO LEAD WITH BRAVERY
Event to spotlight women of courage, connection, and community impact.

PITTSBURGH, PA, June 17, 2025 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Brave Women Project (BWP) is proud to announce that nominations for the 3rd Annual Pillar Awards will officially open on June 23, 2025. This inspiring recognition program celebrates women who embrace bravery and continuous growth built on unwavering support and meaningful connections.

Launched to honor women who lead with purpose and inspire others through the 5 Es for Life — Educate, Empower, Encourage, Engage, and Evolve — the Pillar Awards have grown into a signature event that draws changemakers, champions, and thought leaders from across the region and beyond.

Since its inception in 2023, the Pillar Awards have seen tremendous growth and momentum. What began with 27 nominees, 135 attendees, and 17 sponsors in its first year grew to an inspiring 44 nominees, 306 attendees, and 32 sponsors in 2024. This surge reflects not only the increasing demand to celebrate women who lead with purpose, but also the power of community when bravery is amplified. The Pillar Awards have quickly become a cornerstone event for the Brave Women Project, a space where stories are honored, connections are deepened, and the impact of women supporting women is on full display.

“We believe every brave action deserves to be seen,” said Kelli Komondor, BWP’s Executive Director and creator of the Pillar Awards. “This event is more than recognition; it’s a rally cry to keep lifting each other up and showing what’s possible when women step into their power, celebrate their successes, and focus on collaborating over competing.”

About the Pillar Awards

Honorees are chosen not for titles, but for impact. Past recipients include CEOs, grassroots organizers, educators, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit founders – all women who have chosen bravery over complacency and connection over competition.

This year’s Pillar Awards will take place on Friday, November 14 at Rivers Casino, honoring dozens of remarkable women whose brave actions are creating real change in their communities and industries. The event promises an afternoon of powerful storytelling, bold recognition, and meaningful connection. BWP’s new Voice + Vision team – emcee Dr. Christine Herring and pink carpet correspondent Jennifer “Jenny D.” DiLucia – will capture every inspiring moment, shining a light on the impact and influence of the nominees. Attendees will also have opportunities to build strong relationships with mission-aligned sponsors, supporters, and female-founded brands, making this more than a celebration – it’s a catalyst for continued connection and collaboration.

Call for Nominations – Open June 23

BWP invites the public to nominate a woman who has made a bold difference. Whether she’s leading a movement or making quiet waves, her story deserves to be seen and celebrated. Visit bwp.life/pillar-awards-2025 for more information or contact Kelli Komondor at kelli@bwp.life.
