PA INDEPENDENT ROCK ACT SOURMASH GAINS FIVE NOMINATIONS IN THE 11TH ANNUAL JOSIE MUSIC AWARDS

LEECHBURG, PA, June 25, 2025 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The final list of nominees for the 11th Annual Josie Music Awards was announced this week. Pennsylvania rock act Sourmash received a total of five nominations in Josie Music Awards categories – Group of the Year, Song of the Year (No More), Vocalist of the Year (Tim Henry), and Musician of the Year categories for Bassist (Dave Stanoszek), and Drummer (Brian Forsha). This is the fifth year in a row that Sourmash has been nominated, amassing 29 nominations in all. The act won Entertainer of the Year in 2021 and returned in 2022 to win two more awards – Duo/Group of the Year and Vocalist of the Year (Henry).

The veteran group wrapped up a successful return (after a 17-month hiatus) by winning three awards in the 2024 Pittsburgh Music Awards. In February, the Iron City Rocks’ Pittsburgh Music Awards list of finalists was announced, in which Sourmash received a total of seven nominations in both group and individual categories. The act won for Best Rock Band, while Sourmash frontman Tim Henry won for both Best Vocalist and Best Guitarist.
The Josie Music Awards ceremony returns to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN and will be held November 2, 2025 with pre-gala festivities throughout the weekend. The Josie Music Awards event will include a red carpet entrance, artist performances, award announcements, as well as the JMA Fest. The nomination committee for the JMAs sifted through over 86,000 submissions from around the world to determine the nominees for this year’s event. The Josie Music Awards remains the largest independent artist award show in the world since its inception in 2015.
In addition to the trip to Nashville in November, Sourmash will be headed to Hollywood, CA in August to perform at the legendary Whisky A Go Go. Sourmash consists of members: Tim Henry (vocalist, guitarist), Dave Stanoszek (bassist), and Brian Forsha (drummer). Sourmash music has found its way across the globe in both film and television; streaming in 84 countries; and nationally on SiriusXM and AMI & TouchTunes jukeboxes. The act has performed at numerous festivals and motorcycle rallies and has shared the stage with the likes of Blackberry Smoke, Luke Combs, Great White, Saliva, Jackyl, David Allen Coe, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot and more.
