KICKLINE DANCE CENTER BRINGS THE GIFT OF DANCE
TO UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

PETERS TWP, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Kickline Dance Center (Kickline), a locally owned dance studio serving Peters Township and the surrounding communities, is announcing a new charity effort in conjunction with Traveling Tutus to collect used dance apparel that will be repurposed and donated to disadvantaged children around the world.Kickline will be gathering dance costumes and tutus throughout the month of November and sending them to Traveling Tutus. Founded in 2008, Traveling Tutus, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, provides new and gently used dance attire to children around the world to instill confidence, self-expression, and joy through the gift of dance. In the past eight years, over 1000 children in 17 different countries have received dance costumes.

“I am passionate about helping underprivileged children discover the joys of dancing,” said Jenna Fleetwood, Founder of Traveling Tutus. “Our mission goes beyond dance. The dance costumes we collect and donate from studios like Kickline provide a way for children who do not have the financial means to buy dancewear to receive a personalized bag with their “own” costume in their size and favorite color. They can feel loved and cherished for a day and we help to make that happen.”

Area residents are encouraged to drop by Kickline at 531 Georgetown Rd through November 24th to bring in gently used dance attire or to make a donation in support of Traveling Tutus.

“Moms and students have been coming to me for years and asking for ideas on what they can do with their used dance clothes. I heard about Traveling Tutus from other studios in the area and we feel privileged to be a part of this worthy campaign,” said Cynthia Phillips, owner of Kickline Dance Center. “Through this experience we are also teaching our students the importance of giving and how they can make a difference in other children’s lives.”

In addition to championing Traveling Tutus and helping to repurpose used dance costumes, Kickline will continue to support various worthy local causes and will also be participating in the Children’s Hospital Telethon in December.
