Construction Junction Celebrates 25 Years of Reuse with New Sip ‘n Shop Event Series

PITTSBURGH, PA, April 2, 2024 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Construction Junction, Pittsburgh’s premier destination for reclaimed building materials and unique finds, is thrilled to announce a new event series in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
Mark your calendars for the inaugural event on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. Prepare for an unforgettable evening of fun, exploration, community engagement and, of course, shopping. Held at Construction Junction’s sprawling facility located at 214 North Lexington Street in North Point Breeze, Sip ‘n Shop promises an eclectic mix of free activities, live music, and entertainment for all ages. Food and beverages will also be available from local vendors for purchase. Additional dates include May 25, June 29, July 27, August 31, and September 28.
“We are incredibly excited to commemorate 25 years of serving the Pittsburgh community,” said Mike Gable, Executive Director at Construction Junction. “This Sip ‘n Shop series not only kicks off the celebration of our silver anniversary year, but gives us a fun opportunity to reconnect with the many community members who have helped build this organization through participating in REUSE!”
Throughout each two hour event, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Shop: Browse Construction Junction’s vast array of reclaimed building materials, appliances, doors, light fixtures, expanded salvaged lumber section, home goods, and more.
- Listen: Enjoy live music performances, enhancing the shopping experience with eclectic tunes.
- Taste: Indulge in tasty food and refreshments from local vendors offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy onsite and to take home.
- Create: Unleash your artistic side with engaging craft activities.
- Explore: Embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of Construction Junction’s facility including our full woodshop–complete with equipment demonstrations and introduction to wood species. Visitors will also learn about the importance of reuse and conservation.
- Discover: Take a stroll through the building to explore other community partner spaces including Free Ride and The Pillow Project. Each will also offer their own free, family- friendly activities too.
