PITTSBURGH, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) —  Lillian Abell is advancing the movement to strengthen the mind, body and soul of young female athletes with the announcement of an inspirational, day-long event geared towards girls in grades 8th-12th. Your Personal Best will take place Tuesday, May 10th at the AJ Palumbo Center from 9am-2pm. Partnered with Duquesne University and with support from UPMC Sports Medicine and Walgreens, Your Personal Best is a full-circle approach to wellness designed by women for young women striving to reach their own unique potential, both in sports and in life.

This exciting program was created in collaboration with coaches, athletic directors, parents, and experts in the fields of sports, nutrition and health. The agenda focuses on the building blocks needed for optimal health and fitness including nutrition, mental toughness, physical training, injury awareness, networking, self confidence and empowerment. Each presenter is an expert in her field right here in Pittsburgh and brings relevant insight through dynamic content.

The event includes educational sessions by 14 distinguished speakers, personalized wellness assessments by 50 athletic performance trainers and a boxed lunch with local collegiate athletes excited to share their own stories. Founded in 2016, Lillian Abell was created with the mission of pulling all essential data from every aspect of development to form a central truth with regards to the healthy growth of young women in sports. “Each evolution, girlhood to adolescence to young adulthood, provides new and uncertain challenges that force each of us to reevaluate as we strive for excellence,” said Michelle Leibow, Founder & CEO. “But what does being your best really mean? Giving girls the tools to allow their best selves to emerge and flourish is our ultimate goal!”The company is named for Ms. Leibow’s paternal grandmother whose strength in providing for her family during the Great Depression left a lasting legacy of resilience.
