PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — May 2, 2018, 7:30 AM at the River’s Club,  the Greater Pittsburgh Business and Professional Women’s Club will host the annual Linda Turner Cobb Scholarship Fund Breakfast Panel. Four dynamic women whose title and position exemplify the theme “Women are the Architects of Change,” will present and participate on a panel discussion. They are gamechangers in this era of recognizing that pubic and private entities “business as usual” thrives when it is more diversified in its workforce and in leadership positions.

The Panel Moderator, Chelsa Wagner is the first female Controller of Allegheny County; Maurita Bryant, Assistant Superintendent of the Allegheny County Police Department;  Alka Patel, Deputy Director, Risk and Regulatory Services Innovation Center Carnegie Mellon University; Donna Baxter Porcher Founder, Soul Pitt Media and Technical Coordinator, Management Science Associates; Karen Hacker, M.D., M.P.H., Director of the Allegheny County Health Department. This dynamic line-up, most firsts their positions, will discuss how or if they see progress for women in their fields and how they are ensuring the door is open for others to follow. Donation $45. The Business and Professional Women’s Clubs is a statewide organization with 75 chapters and 12 districts and over 1600 members throughout Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh chapter have over 30 members. BPW It is the leading organization advocating for women in business. The breakfast proceeds enable the chapter to present annual scholarships to new and returning higher education students.
About Linda Turner Cobb
Linda Cobb spent six years as a DA trial lawyer and appointed Magistrate to Pittsburgh’s Municipal Court in 1986 by the late Mayor Richard S. Caliguiri and presided for 13 years. Magistrate Cobb, was active in the National Association of Business and Professional Women’s Club where she served as president and member. She fought a battle with lung cancer and passed away in 2006 at the age of 56.
