QUEEN OF THE NILE PRODUCTIONS, SEEKS FUNDING
TO PRODUCE MOVIE INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS
Field of Stones: The Westinghouse High School Story
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — America loves a great coming of age sports story and Leslie Parr, a 1967 Westinghouse High School graduate has a story to tell. November 9,1963, the Westinghouse Bull Dogs won their 18th City League Football Championship, an occasion characterized by celebratory jubilant. Later the same day their co-captain and star player was murdered. His three best friends, whose anger is bigger than life, try to deal with this horrific tragedy!

Leslie Parr, Field of Stones screenwriter, was a high-school freshman at that time and recalls the toil, anger, frustration and sadness among the student body, the faculty and Homewood.  “What a devastating moment for all of us,” Parr stated.
In the context of blockbuster films — Remember the Titans, Friday Night Lights and We Are Marshall — Her full feature film, Field of Stones: The Westinghouse High School story highlights the Westinghouse High School football team, the Bulldogs, which was a southwestern pennsylvania elite football phenomenon under the leadership of Coach Pete Dimperio. Most importantly, Field of Stones focuses on the resiliency of Westinghouse High School students, who turned tragedy into triumph and success, during an era of civil unrest and during one of the country’s most important and eventful years in American history, 1963.
With a budget of over $600,000 to complete the movie, the filmmakers have embarked upon a crowd funding campaign using the funding source www.hatchfund.org, a micro-philanthropy platform which hosts an online community where artists can post projects for funding and connect with those who love and support artists. With less than three weeks left the filmmakers’ goal is to raise $100,000 which Parr outlines will be utilized for pre and production costs. Field of Stones will be a full-length feature film shot in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh, at Westinghouse High School, the actual school and neighborhood where the events occurred.
All Field of Stones donations are tax deductible.
