WEXFORD BUSINESSWOMAN JUDY MASUCCI WINS NATION’S TOP PHILANTHROPY HONOR AT CURVE AWARDS IN NEW YORK CITY

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Judy Masucci, owner of Levana Bratique, a specialty retailer of bras and lingerie based in Wexford, won the nation’s top honor for Philanthropic Excellence at the Curve Awards on Sunday, August 1, 2021, in New York City. Dr. Masucci and her team have donated more than 100,000 bras, panties, and period products since 2018. Levana Bratique was chosen from a group of more than 18,000 bra and lingerie shops in the USA.

Other awardees included influencers and television celebrities Kim “Hurray Kimmay” Caldwell and Molly Hopkins of LiviRae Lingerie. The Curve Awards were held at Spring Studios in lower Manhattan, in conjunction with the NPD Lingerie Industry Awards and Best of Intima Awards. The awards were the highlight of the international Curve Expo New York, drawing brands and retailers from around the world, and recognized as the leading trade show for the lingerie industry.

More than 60,000 of Masucci’s donations took place during the pandemic in 2020 through a partnership with I Support the Girls, a nonprofit that provides basic health and hygiene necessities to girls and women experiencing homelessness, trauma, or poverty in the Pittsburgh region.

Of her philanthropic work Masucci says, “Even before the pandemic, there were people in our community who couldn’t afford basic self-care necessities, and we wanted to do whatever we could to help. In 2020 the need increased exponentially as more families were struggling. We were honored to be able to step up our program and reach even more local families in need.”

A passionate advocate for body positivity, Masucci also writes a regular blog encouraging women with bra fitting advice and affirming content.

Levana Bratique has been active in the industry for more than 14 years, since Masucci founded her first business, A Mother’s Boutique, in 2007 to support and equip new mothers with well-fitting nursing bras. Since those early days, the shop has rebranded as Levana Bratique in 2016 and expanded product offerings to include bras of all types and sizes.

Masucci, known to her customers as The Bra Whisperer, has built a large and loyal following of women the Pittsburgh region and around the country for her personalized and virtual bra fitting services and her in-stock selection of hard to find sizes, ranging from band sizes 28-56 and cup sizes A to W.  At Levana Bratique, she has been steadily expanding the list of brands she carries and now offers the biggest selection of bras in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Levana also carries shapewear, sleepwear, and lingerie accessories.

By popular demand, Masucci will be launching a line of luxury lingerie brands at the shop. She shopped the international show for hand-made embroidered lingerie from around the world. “Customers are looking for something really special. We want to bring the finest lingerie from Europe and around the world to the women of Pittsburgh,” says Masucci.
