Cafetano to Emerge as Soluna

The new name Soluna, comes from the Spanish word ‘sol’ meaning sun, and ‘luna’ meaning moon. Combine these together and you have Soluna.

 

Soluna will not be shedding its predecessors’ offerings. You will still be able to stop in and grab your favorite Central American coffee, fresh baked pastries and locally imported products. Once night time hits, their menu will transition to tapas and Mezcal.

 

Soluna will be focusing on their Mezcal offerings. The Mezcal that will be served at Soluna is imported from Mexico. Like Champagne, for Mezcal to be authentic Mezcal must be produced and bottled in only 9 states in Mexico. The products they will offer are not only made in Mexico, but distilled by a family-owned LGBTQIA+ business.

 

Soluna has been recently featured on Instagram for the Orange Poster Series with Jess of @HungryJessBigCity and Sidney Sokoloff aka @therestaurantbrokerpgh, Vice President at Specialty Group. The Soluna team has hired Specialty Group to help them acquire and transfer their liquor license.

 

Sidney commented that, “bringing alcohol into such a well-known business is always a no-brainer. The Soluna team wants you to enjoy the coffee you know and love, representing the sun, and adding their new Mezcal line-up which will represent the moon.” He continues, “its also nice to see the team focusing on supporting LGBTQIA+ businesses and making their concept welcoming to all.”

 

Cafetano plans to remain open during the transition. Soluna is expected to open their doors by the end of 2022.
