HEART-CENTERED HYPNOTHERAPY IN THE HEART OF
PITTSBURGH’S NORTH SUBURBS
Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — People struggling with their weight often gravitate to fad diets, but often the issue is not what is going into their mouths, but what is happening in their hearts and minds. The Counseling and Wellness Center at 7115 Church Avenue in Ben Avon will be offering a Weight Release program starting in September. The support/education group will meet for two hours for four weeks and will introduce each participant to the modality of Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy™ within the “Trim-Life Weight Release Program”. Group sessions will be lecture, discussion, and experiential in nature. Individual sessions will also be available. Ivan Lambert, LPC is one of two practitioners in the Pittsburgh area combining a heart-centered spirituality with hypnotherapy.

“Hypnosis alters thinking,” Lambert explains, “but in order to experience true healing, there has to be a change in the heart as well. With heart-centered hypnotherapy, the limitations of the conscious mind is overcome, which opens up the world of the unconscious where both the subconscious programs and the super-conscious resides. It is a healing process.”

Explaining that each of us, through heart-centered energies, can access internal resources of strength, wisdom, and healing, Lambert plans to use his heart-centered hypnotherapy in the four-week Weight Release sessions. “This will be a time when we can begin together to identify, create and enhance those internal resources and build external support to explore, identify, and eliminate emotional barriers that have previously blocked us,” he adds.

The program is geared toward changing a person’s relationship to the “self’ that is caught up in unwanted behaviors and emotional states. Developed at The Wellness Institute, “Trim-Life” is used at major hospitals across the country with amazing results, including at the Cleveland Clinic where this form of therapy is the preferred modality in their Department of Integrative Medicine. Addressing the emotional connections people may have with food, the program is designed to help bring about positive changes, not just with weight release, but by altering negative emotional patterns as well. Each participant will receive a journal to aid in the journey.

Ivan Lambert, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2002. With a B.A. degree in Human Relations and Biblical Studies from Milligan College, he earned his M.A. degree from Slippery Rock University in 1983, he has been a practicing counselor for over 30 years.
