SWAG ALLIANCE FOUNDATION AWARDED $60,000 GRANT TO STRENGTHEN SOCIAL WORK WORKFORCE

PITTSBURGH, PA, April 14, 2026 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The SWAG Alliance Foundation has been awarded a $60,000 grant from the Staunton Farm Foundation to support its initiative, “Strengthening the Pipeline: Social Work Licensure and Professional Development Initiative.”

This funding will expand access to critical professional development resources for social workers and the broader helping-professional workforce across Southwestern Pennsylvania, addressing ongoing workforce shortages and barriers to licensure.

Through this initiative, SWAG Alliance Foundation will provide licensure exam assistance, low-cost to no-cost continuing education (CEU) trainings, exam preparation and mentoring groups, group clinical licensure supervision, and paid opportunities for helping professionals to serve as speakers and facilitators.

“This investment allows us to directly address the barriers that impact entry, advancement, and retention in the field,” said Sharise Nance, LCSW, Co-Founder of SWAG Alliance Foundation. “We are building pathways that support helping professionals in sustaining both their work and themselves.”

The SWAG Alliance Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, developing, and recognizing the social work workforce through professional development, wellness, and community-centered initiatives.

Program rollout will begin in April 2026.
