Carmi’s Soul Food occurred February 9, 2018, at their new location in the South Side at
1825 East Carson Street. After their move from the North Side, fans of good, homestyle food can rejoice and enjoy from the restaurant’s brand-new location.
Carmi’s is known for perfecting classic soul food dishes like BBQ Short Ribs, Chicken and Waffles, and are especially loved for their Fried Chicken, which was featured in Good Food Pittsburgh’s
“Best Fried Chicken in Pittsburgh”. Their menu is inspired by generations of family recipes from Chef Michael King and Owner Carleen King, all made with fresh ingredients from local farmers.
Even their drink menu has a Southern flair, featuring Sweet Tea, and signature cocktails like the “Soulmosa”(sparkling white wine and tropical fruit blends) and “Last Call” (moonshine and peach puree).
Carmi boasts a full dinner and lunch menu, with a wide variety of homestyle soul food made from scratch, and they are available for catering, banquets, and private events.
Next week they will be holding soft-opening hours from 11am to 11pm on weekdays, and Sunday 11am to 6pm.Following their full open, they will be offering a breakfast menu in addition to lunch and dinner.
