GERMAN SOMMERFEST PLANNED FOR JULY 26 & 27
Teutonia Männerchor Hosts Its Annual Public Summer Event
PITTSBURGH, PA (Historic Deutschtown), (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Teutonia Männerchor, located at 857 Phineas Street, will host an outdoor Sommerfest event on Friday, July 26, 5-11 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, Noon-11 p.m. It is open to the public.
Admission for guests age 18 and over is $5 and includes a souvenir mug. Persons under age 18 are admitted free with adult supervision.
The festival will feature live bands and traditional dancing. Authentic German food such as bratwurst, potato pancakes, desserts, and more, as well as beers from Hacker Pschorr, Fürstenberg, and Iron City will be available for purchase. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. A large tent in the parking lot of Teutonia Männerchor seats hundreds of guests, with space for dancing—keeping the festival open rain or shine. New for Sommerfest 2019, we will offer a small midway of games for guests to play.
Tours of the half-timbered clubhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will be available free to attendees. For more information, visit www.pghmannerchor.com.
Teutonia Männerchor was founded in 1854. The purposes of the club are to further choral singing, German cultural tradition, and good fellowship.
