New Cider House Offers Curbside Pickup during COVID-19 Quarantine

CORAOPOLIS, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Old Snappers Hard Cider Co. on Fourth Avenue in Coraopolis opens for online sales through www.oldsnapperscider.com, and buyers can pick up their orders on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For a small delivery fee, they will even bring it to your door. Old Snappers offers a variety of hard ciders made in Coraopolis and wines from 6 Mile Cellars of Erie.

 

6 Mile Cellars of Erie, PA, has been making its flagship hard cider, Old Snappers Hard Cider, in Coraopolis since September of last year. They did not plan to offer retail service for a few years as they built out the site, but because of the COVID-19 quarantine, they have been taking orders online for pickup and delivery. The initial success was surprising, says Patrick Walsh, cider maker and co-owner of 6 Mile Cellars—“We put a few posts on Facebook and immediately started getting a dozen or two orders a week.”

 

The cider company carries six to ten hard ciders throughout the year: Old Snappers Original, Sour Cherry, Blood Orange, Ginger, Rosé, and Chai Tea. They also carry all of 6 Mile Cellars’ wines—like Derby Red, Niagara, Traminette, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Geisenheim—and their new canned wines: Rosé, Chardonnay, Sangria, and Moscato.
