DARRELLE REVIS FOUNDATION PARTNERS TO SERVE 1,000 STUDENTS AND FAMILIES THROUGH BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT THIS AUGUST

ALIQUIPPA, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Darrelle Revis Foundation (DRF), the Hope Christian Community Center, and Community Leadership and Development Inc. (CLAD) have announced plans to serve 1,000 students and families during a back-to-school event on Saturday, August 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Founded by seven-time pro bowler and Super Bowl champion Darrelle Revis, the DRF, a 501(c)(3) based in Plantation, Florida, is committed to tackling childhood hunger by assisting families with the tools to live a healthy lifestyle. The vision is expanding to include mental health as well as physical and financial wellness. The DRF has partnered with the Hope Christian Community Center and CLAD to set forth plans to build community and partnerships within the Aliquippa community.

Collectively, their mission is to forge partnerships with community leaders, organizations, civic entities, and schools to deepen their engagement, outreach, and resource connections in service of Aliquippa’s students and families. The three organizations have worked in this community for years, and now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic and recent recovery efforts, they are coming together to support families in the transition back to school—and inviting others to join them.

The back-to-school event will take place on Saturday, August 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the corner of Fifth Street and Adams Street, Aliquippa, PA. Families are invited to attend and pick up free backpacks with school supplies, resourceful information, and spirit gear/swag during this five-hour window. Volunteers are invited to help prepare for the event the week of July 26 and can contact Diamon Hall at diamon.hall@darrellerevisfoundation.org for details and updates.
