AFTER A HIATUS IN 2020, PENN BREWERY’S OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION IS BACK THIS YEAR THE WEEKENDS OF SEPTEMBER 17-19 AND 24-26!
 
 

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Following its COVID-related cancelation last year, Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest celebration is back for 2021, with festivities slated for the weekends of September 17-19 and 24-26 at Penn’s North Side location.

“We’re so happy to bring Oktoberfest back this year,” said Sandy Cindrich, Penn’s President and CEO.  “We and our guests really missed it, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back again.”

This year’s Oktoberfest tent menu will feature German staples including a variety of wursts – bratwurst, kielbasa, and vegetarian sausages – along with roasted half chickens, served with sides of sauerkraut and hot German potato salad. Soft Bavarian pretzels, potato-cheese pierogi, and strudel bites round out the outdoor menu (Complete menu and pricing attached below.)

Penn Oktoberfest has no cover charge, but optional VIP packages are available for an additional fee.  The three package options, which guests must purchase in advance on Showclix, include the following:

Red Star VIP

  • Reserved seating area with high top tables and bar stools
  • Plastic liter stein glass (may upgrade to glass for $10)
  • 2 mug fills with your choice of beer
  • Oktoberfest Bucks – $25 toward food of your choice at the buffet

Pricing is $60 on Friday nights and $65 on Saturday nights

Blue Star VIP

  • Reserved, private tented table seating on Terrace
  • Glass liter stein
  • 2 mug fills with your choice of beer
  • Oktoberfest Bucks – $25 to spend toward food of your choice at buffet
  • Private indoor restrooms
  • VIP-only tap of Oktoberfest beer in tent area

Pricing is $80 on Friday nights and $85 on and Saturday nights

Band VIP

  • Reserved, private seating area directly in front of bands
  • Plastic liter stein glass (may upgrade to glass for $10)
  • 2 mug fills with your choice of beer
  • Oktoberfest Bucks – $25 to spend toward food of your choice at buffet

Pricing is $60 on Friday nights and $65 on Saturday nights.

Optional add-ons to any VIP package include: 

  • Glass liter stein with Penn logo – $10
  • Butcher board appetizer platters with meats, cheeses, vegetables, and bread served at your table – $30 for small platter, $55 for large platter.

This year’s Oktoberfest entertainment lineup includes Autobahn, Kevin Solecki, North Coast Mix, Mon Valley Push, Tom Allan, and Kozmix.  This group of talented musicians will offer guests plenty of oompah, accordions, and horns. (A detailed entertainment schedule is included below.)

Hours for Penn’s Oktoberfest are 5:00 PM to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 9:00 PM on Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays, only adults 21 and over are permitted after 8:00 PM. Penn will also serve a streamlined Oktoberfest menu for sit-down dining in the restaurant but will not be accepting any dining reservations during Oktoberfest weekends.

Regarding COVID safety protocols, guests should be aware that the majority of Oktoberfest activities on Fridays and Saturdays will take place outdoors. While Penn Brewery does not currently mandate that guests be vaccinated or wear masks, we highly recommend and respectfully request that all attendees consider taking these measures to protect those who are medically unable to do so. Guests should also know that Penn will comply with any government-mandated measures that may be implemented in the weeks leading up to Oktoberfest, and thus details of the event are subject to change.
