TEUTONIA MÄNNERCHOR HOLDS OKTOBERFEST
 
 
PITTSBURGH, PA, August 29, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Northside “German Club”- Teutonia Männerchor, one of the oldest in the country, is holding an outdoor OKTOBERFEST event for the public on the grounds of its National Historic Registry registered clubhouse, built in 1888. Follow East Ohio Street to “The Big Tent”. They will be offering the finest imported German beers along with authentic German food, dance performances and “Deutsches Musik” provided by several live German bands, highlighted by the Barons each evening.  Admission is a modest $5 per person and there will be tours of the historic Sängerhalle (Singer’s Concert hall) and the Ratskeller available and included in your admission ticket.

The Oktoberfest is one of Germany’s most famous traditions. It is the celebration of a royal wedding celebration taking place in 1810 in Munich, Germany. It is a colorful, joyous part of history and culture in Germany. Oktoberfests are held all over Germany, celebrating with great food and plenty of local beer.  Teutonia Männerchor is committed to preserving the German cultural traditions and sharing them with the public.

This year’s Oktoberfest will be held Friday, September 1st  (5:00pm – 11:00pm), September 2nd  (12:00am – 11:00pm), and Sunday, September 3rd  (12:00pm to 5:00pm). The Teutonia Männerchor is located at 857 Phineas Street, Pittsburgh (on the North Shore) and the fest grounds are adjacent. Limited parking is available at the Heinz House Parking Area as well as on-street parking.
