PITTSBURGH, PA, July 23, 2024 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Community Liver Alliance (CLA) announces its third annual awareness campaign, DeLIVERing Hope. This campaign provides an opportunity for the public to receive a fresh, vibrant bouquet of sunflowers for a $20 donation. All donations will support the mission of the CLA to brighten the future of the liver community through disease awareness, education, advocacy, and research.
Due to the extreme weather conditions in the Pittsburgh region, pickup and delivery has been moved to Friday, September 20 at multiple locations across Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. Free delivery is available for corporations and organizations ordering 100 or more bunches.
“Schwirian Farm in Monongahela is our grower again this year. They have planted specific stems just for our campaign and sadly, they’re not blooming due to the severe heat and drought,” campaign manager Kelli Komondor stated. “The farm contacted us and asked for extra time, and we are grateful to have an additional week to promote the campaign and raise awareness.”
This year’s Corporate Chair is Dan Donovan, Senior Director, Public Relations and Sports Partnerships at Giant Eagle. In his corporate position, Donovan understands the disparities that exist in both healthcare and food security. “My personal connection with total health makes me an ideal supporter of the CLA. With over 500 functions, the liver influences nearly all the body’s wellbeing,” Donovan stated. “I believe my views on serving others mirror those of the CLA. I’m thrilled to participate in this vital campaign.”
“Our goal is to raise funds that will go toward our mission of calling attention to the prevalence of liver disease and the disparities that exist among vulnerable populations,” said CLA’s founder and CEO, Suzanna Masartis. “We are committed to continually enhancing our methods of reaching and supporting the liver community. Our ongoing efforts aim to improve community education about liver health and to forge stronger alliances with local healthcare providers and corporate partners.”
Parties interested in sponsoring this campaign should direct questions Michele Donovan at michele@communityliveralliance.org.
