NO. 1 DRAFT PICK! PITTSBURGH FIRM LIGHTS UP SISTER BRIDGES
The NFL and Allegheny County selected Pittsburgh-based Integrated Theater Systems, Ltd. to create 33 custom lighting shows for Pittsburgh’s Sister Bridges, a downtown focal point for the NFL’s 2026 Draft festivities.
PITTSBURGH PA, April 24, 2026 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Integrated Theater Systems, Ltd. (ITS) is proud to announce its selection by the NFL and Allegheny County to design and execute a massive-scale creative lighting installation across Pittsburgh’s historic “Sister Bridges.” As the city takes center stage for the 2026 NFL Draft, the Roberto Clemente, Rachel Carson, and Andy Warhol bridges will serve as a synchronized, glowing backdrop for the global event.
The installation transforms the city’s skyline through the artistry of ITS Director of Design & Technology, Jeff Sherman, amid a staggering array of technology. The project features 708 physical LED fixtures—comprising 10,804 virtual LED fixtures—mapped across the three spans. The technical scope includes:
- 6 iconic steel towers equipped with 14 RGBW spotlights each.
- 192 catenary cable pin caps featuring RGBW LED dome lights.
- 132 vertical suspenders lined with RGB linear LED lights.
- 12 stone pylons topped with 8-panel RGBW LED lanterns.
- 6 stone piers illuminated by 8 spotlights each.
Operating on 33,384 DMX512 control addresses and 75 control universes, the system is powered by an infrastructure of one mile of optical fiber, three miles of DMX512 control cable, and five miles of network control cable.
Each of the 33 custom lighting shows was meticulously designed and programmed weeks in advance. Throughout the Draft festivities, these shows are cued by the NFL Draft team and triggered in real-time by ITS personnel stationed in a unique, rustic control room housed directly within one of the stone pylons of the Andy Warhol Bridge.
“Being selected to partner once again with Allegheny County to illuminate three of our hometown’s most iconic landmarks for a global stage like the NFL Draft is a tremendous honor,” said ITS president, Susan Stowe Nash. “We have engineered a system that treats these historic bridges as a single, living canvas, reflecting the energy and excitement of the fans in downtown Pittsburgh.”
