Unique Granite Worx Opens Large Indoor Granite Showroom

Unique Granite Worx began as a small operation and has quickly evolved into a growing regional countertop company with 14 employees, hundreds of in-stock slabs, and plans for future expansion. Today, Unique Granite Worx completes between 15 and 20 kitchens each week while continuing to invest heavily in both inventory and customer experience.

Owner Mark Petersheim shared that the company’s newest warehouse addition has become one of the business’s most important milestones.

“We wanted people to be able to walk through the slabs comfortably, take their time, and really see what they’re choosing,” said Mark. “When customers are making a big investment in their home, they shouldn’t feel rushed.”

The company’s new indoor warehouse currently houses approximately 550 slabs of granite, quartz, and quartzite. Unlike outdoor slab yards, the indoor environment allows customers to browse regardless of weather conditions while also helping preserve the quality and appearance of the materials over time.

The climate-controlled showroom features high ceilings, bright lighting, and equipment that allows staff to easily move and display individual slabs for customers who want a closer look. Homeowners frequently bring flooring samples, cabinet finishes, tile selections, and paint colors to help visualize how each slab will look inside their home.

According to Mark, helping customers feel confident in their choices is one of the company’s biggest priorities.

“We always tell people to put in what they truly want the first time,” he said. “This process isn’t just about selling countertops. It’s about helping people create something they’ll love for years.”

Unique Granite Worx traces its roots back to Mark’s family history in cabinetry. His father came to the countertop industry in 2009, and Mark officially launched the current business in 2022.

Since then, the company has experienced significant growth, including a reported 52 percent increase over a recent multi-year period. Future plans include expanding the showroom, office, and fabrication facilities even further.

“Our growth has happened quickly, but we’re trying to grow responsibly,” Mark said. “We want to keep improving the customer experience while continuing to build a strong team and quality operation.”
