US ASSISTANT SECRETARY, JAY WILLIAMS TO HEADLINE ECENTER@LINDENPOINTE EVENT 

(PittsburghNewsWire.com) HERMITAGE, PA – The LindenPointe Development Corporation Board is pleased to announce that US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development will be returning to the area to deliver the Keynote Address at “An Evening with the eCenter Community” to be held at 5:00 on Wednesday. October 1, 2014 at the Avalon Golf and Country Club at Buhl Park.

Jay Williams is charged with leading the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the global economy.

Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, Jay served as the executive director of the Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers. In this capacity, he worked directly with state and local stakeholders in areas affected by the changing American automotive industry to deliver federal support to ensure they returned to better economic condition. He also served in the White House as Deputy Director for the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. In this position, he led efforts to engage mayors, city council members, and county officials around the country.  Williams is also the former mayor of Youngstown.

The evening will feature the incubator clients, graduates, college interns and the high school Entrepreneurship Academy @ LindenPointe.  Guests attending will be treated to a unique experience to network with the entrepreneurs and enjoy an exciting program.  “We are honored to have Assistant Secretary Jay Williams as our Keynote Speaker for this exciting event.
