PORKED TO OPEN SECOND LOCATION IN EAST LIBERTY

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Natalie Bobak, owner of “Pittsburgh’s First Pig House,” had a vision of expanding her much-lauded sandwich shop from its humble and intimate, 800 square foot location in Lincoln Place neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. Bobak, with a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, dove into the restaurant industry with help from her partner, Tony Molnar. Together, Bobak and Molnar founded Porked, a sandwich shop which “focuses on the pig,” and their idea quickly took off.

With expansion on Bobak’s mind, Restaurant Broker Terri Sokoloff of Specialty Group suggested East Liberty would be an ideal fit for their food and their mission – to be involved in, give back to, and hire within their community. Sokoloff identified a suitable space to expand, 220 N Highland, which is centrally located in the rapidly expanding neighborhood. Bobak and Molnar are anticipating an opening this Fall.
Since their new location is in the heart of East Liberty, both Bobak and Molnar are thrilled about the experiences the new community will offer. Their current location was voted 2018 Fan Favorite in the ‘2018 Guide to Your Local Favorites’ in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Porked is an ideal fit for the rapid development happening in the area. The partners are excited to provide a new food choice for their growing customer base, while catering to people who may not have been aware of their original establishment.
“I’m so thrilled for both Natalie and Tony, and the East Liberty community with this expansion.” Sokoloff says. “I was really impressed with their food, the energy, and the cleanliness of their operation. The new location for Porked will bring a specialized food offering to an area that is steadily growing year after year.”
