PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Experienced Pittsburgh restaurateur Robert Miller has teamed up with Jessica Martin Adams to open an innovative restaurant in place of the former Station Street Hot Dogs located at 6290 Broad Street in East Liberty.  The restaurant will be called The Fire Side Pub and will aim to create a comfortable and intimate atmosphere that will allow guests to connect with the people handling and cooking their food in a way that is very rarely done in the restaurant industry.

Mr. Miller and Ms. Martin Adams plan to fully renovate the former hot dog shop over the next couple months in order to make the space work for their vision and concept.  One of the most drastic changes will be the kitchen.  Instead of separating the front and back of house, they will be locating the kitchen directly in the middle of the dining room for all customers to see with kitchen line equipment that will grab guests’ attention and serve as a conversation starter.  “I want to encourage our chef to interact with our guests throughout their time in our restaurant whether that be to discuss the food, their experience, stuff going on in the area or whatever, it will foster a unique relationship not found in most restaurants,” Mr. Miller explained.

Having been appointed to handle the leasing and/or sale of the former Station Street Hot Dogs, Terri Sokoloff, of Specialty Bar & Restaurant Brokers, who also handled the openings of Mr. Miller’s other two restaurants in the Pittsburgh area, Sidelines Beer House in Sewickley and Sidelines Bar & Grill in Millvale, both of which are still open and operating, knew that presenting this opportunity to Mr. Miller would be a win for all parties involved.  “Mr. Miller is a well-respected and seasoned restaurant operator and I think their concept will be welcomed with open arms in the blossoming East Liberty community,” stated Ms. Sokoloff.

The menu will center around sandwiches and burgers in addition to other offerings including appetizers, salads, wings and a few select entree options with an emphasis on locally sourced products.  Mr. Miller and Ms. Martin Adams will also be obtaining a liquor license for the space and intends to pair food selections with a craft beer, wine and/or spirit to bring out the best flavors in each component of the meal.  The Fire Side Pub is slated for a summer 2015 opening.
