LOCAL CYBER CHARTER SCHOOL APPOINTS NEW CEO

Wexford, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — PA Distance Learning Charter School’s Board of Trustees has announced that Patricia Rossetti has been selected as the K-12 cyber school’s chief executive officer (CEO).  She replaces James Hoover, who retired in June after serving seven years as CEO.

“This is an exciting time for PA Distance Learning Charter School” said Bill DiBenedetto, a school board member and part of the CEO Search Committee. “We are indeed fortunate to have someone of Mrs. Rossetti’s knowledge and experience leading us into what we anticipate to be an unprecedented period of growth.”

Rossetti has been working in the public cyber-charter school since 2005, when she was hired as a secondary social studies teacher.  She served as K-12 Principal for the past two years.

“It has been an honor to mentor under Dr. Hoover’s leadership. Our work together has empowered me to take on the challenge of becoming CEO,” Rossetti said. “I am excited to continue working with our amazing families and staff as we transform 21st century technologies into a global learning environment where students excel beyond our expectations!”

Rossetti has experience in developing and writing curriculum, supervising professional and support staff, leading professional development, managing online education programs and serving as member of the Student Assistance Program team.

Rossetti earned her bachelor of science in education from Slippery Rock University. She earned her master’s in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision and K-12 principal certification from California University of Pennsylvania, where she is currently enrolled in the Superintendent Letter of Eligibility Program.
