‘TIS THE SEASON TO ADOPT-A-HORSE OR DONKEY FUN-RAISER

Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Verland is hosting their annual Adopt-a-Horse-Donkey Fun-raiser to help take care of their therapeutic horses and miniature donkeys. Individuals or groups will be able to come to the stables & have their picture taken with their new adopted friend. Donations from $10 to $1,000 will be accepted from now until January 11, 2014 (est. monthly cost $150 for each animal).

A certificate of adoption will be given out to all participants at the end of the program.

Fundraiser efforts will help Verland maintain their wonderful four-legged family; such as feed, supplements, farrier services, vet care and other associated costs. In addition, proceeds will also help fund re-seeding the turnout fields. Last year’s donations went towards the purchase of a new ramp and lift system, so that more of our individuals are able to participate in our Therapeutic Riding Program. Why stop at just one month of care? Verland’s animals need year round attention & your adoption can make it easier to do that. The Equestrian Therapy Program depends on donations and fundraising events to help offset the cost. Verland has been offering the chance for individuals with disabilities to strengthen physically, mentally and emotionally through equine assisted activities since 1982.

Help Bubba, Jada, Oden, Pedro & Thorn stay warm & well cared for, so they can help others!
