Rotary Clubs Across Southwestern Pennsylvania Mobilize for EPIC Day of Service on May 16

SOUTHWESTERN, PA, May 8, 2026 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Rotary clubs across Southwestern Pennsylvania are mobilizing for the Rotary EPIC Day of Service on Saturday, May 16, with dozens of clubs participating in service projects designed to create visible impact throughout the region.
Community members, families, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to join Rotarians in projects focused on beautification, food insecurity, environmental stewardship, youth engagement, veteran support, and community care.
Service projects will take place throughout the 9-county Southwestern Pennsylvania region and include community cleanups, tree planting, trail restoration, pet pantry support, food initiatives, veteran appreciation efforts, mental health awareness activities, youth-led projects, and partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations.
Participating communities include Ambridge, Bethel Park, Bridgeville, Canonsburg, Carnegie, Crafton, Ebensburg, Elizabeth, Greensburg, Hampton, Indiana, Johnstown, Latrobe, McMurray, Monroeville, Moon Township, Mt. Pleasant, Murrysville, Pittsburgh, Pleasant Hills, Sewickley, Somerset, Upper St. Clair, Washington, Westmoreland County, and additional communities throughout the district.
Examples of projects include:
- Town and park cleanups
- Highway and trail restoration
- Tree planting and beautification efforts
- Community pantry and food support projects
- Veteran home and veteran appreciation initiatives
- YMCA and community center projects
- Mental health awareness activities
- Youth and Interact-led service efforts
Rotary District 7305 includes more than 70 Rotary clubs across Southwestern Pennsylvania, representing communities that collectively reach approximately 2.65 million residents, nearly 20% of Pennsylvania’s population.
“While those numbers are significant, what matters most is the impact created by people willing to lead, serve, collaborate, and care deeply about their communities,” said District Governor Felicia Mycyk.
The Rotary EPIC Day of Service is intended to increase visibility around volunteerism while creating opportunities for collaboration between Rotary clubs, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and residents throughout the region.
“The emphasis is on creating a stronger sense of belonging while developing leaders, expanding collaboration, and making service more visible, engaging, and impactful throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania,” said Mycyk.
