TO “GIVE TOXICS THE BOOT”

Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) —  Local fire fighters and health leaders will hold a press conference to call on their members of Congress to take immediate action on toxic chemicals as a part of the GIVE TOXICS THE BOOTcampaign.

Pittsburgh’s event will be held to honor fire fighters who have died from occupational related illnesses, some linked to toxic chemical exposure. Like their colleagues across the country, Pennsylvania’s firefighters have high rates of cancer and other health problems linked to occupational exposures. They are sounding the alarm about toxic flame retardants, fire fighters’ unique exposures and the need for strong government leadership on regulating toxic chemicals.
